Here’s Why Padel Is Perfect for You!

Who hasn’t heard of padel? Chances are, someone in your circle has already tried this racket sport.

Padel looks a lot like tennis. However, it has different rules and equipment than tennis. Padel is better described as a combination of squash and tennis.

This sport is widely discussed by the public because it offers many benefits. According to Alodokter.com, padel can improve reflexes, teamwork, and hand-eye coordination.

It is believed that padel is more beginner-friendly than tennis. This is due to several factors, namely:

1. A padel court is much smaller than a tennis court.
This makes it easier for beginners to cover the court. Padel courts also feature walls to bounce the ball off.

2. Padel rackets are easier to control during maneuvers.
This is because padel rackets have a flat surface that minimizes errors when hitting the ball. They are also shorter and lighter, making them comfortable to hold.

3. It is usually played in groups.
Not only is it good for your health, but padel also has benefits for your social life. A game of padel is typically played by four people, divided into two teams of two.

In Indonesia alone, there are now 134 padel clubs officially registered with the Federation Internationale de Padel (FIP). According to Dataloka, Indonesia accounts for 40% of all padel courts in Southeast Asia. Though often dismissed as just another FOMO (fear of missing out) trend, padel actually offers plenty of health benefits too!

1. Help your body burn calories!
Padel falls into the category of cardio exercises that effectively burn calories. This sport also boosts metabolism, making it an effective way to lose weight.

2. Improves reflexes and balance
Padel requires quick physical responses to catch the ball, whether you’re turning or running. This helps train your motor skills, making it easier to control your movements.

3. Relieves stress and improves mood!
We often see people playing padel after work, and this is because padel helps the body produce endorphins. These hormones help relieve stress and make us feel much happier!

4. Supports physical fitness

Although it looks relaxed, padel involves many movements that engage the entire body. You’ll feel fitter and more energized after playing padel.
